Astronaut Niko Breckinridge is focused on searching the world for alien intelligence. She leads a crew that is on a mission to explore the genesis of an alien artifact that has been found on Earth. As Breckinridge and her young crew investigate, they face unimaginable dangers on what may end up being a one-way mission. Katee Sackhoff stars as Niko, leading an ensemble cast that includes Selma Blair.

I watched the first half of the first episode, didn't like the crew at all. Then the question popped up, why the captain can talk to her daughter from Sirius without delay, but they can't ask mission control what to do. Then I realized in what kind of writing I was in for and stopped watching.
