Wolfenstein is the game that started first person shooters in their current form. Sure, DOOM made the genre popular, but you wouldn’t have DOOM without Wolfenstein. From Castle Wolfenstein in the early 80s, to id Software’s Wolfenstein 3D, to the modern Machine Games The New Order games, the series has a many generations to look into. Today Mike, Ryan, and Justin do just that.

  1. For me Wolfenstein 2009 was the best Wolfenstein game. The freedom to move around the map, not exactly open world but good enough. The shooting mechanics (Raven did it so you know it had to be good) and the overall feel. Still one of relatively few (compared to how many exist) FPS games I wanted and did finish. Great game.
